Once known as the Guild Theatre, the August Wilson Theatre opened in 1925 and was renamed in 2005 after the respected playwright to honor his contributions to Broadway. It was designed to resemble a 15th-century Tuscan villa and sits amongst some of New York City's most famous attractions, offering an intimate setting for audiences and amazing acoustics for the performers. Previous notable productions include Caesar and Cleopatra, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Annie, Carrie, The Crucible, My Fair Lady, Little Shop of Horrors, Little Women, Mean Girls, Funny Girl, and most recently, the unique experience of Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club.

Arrival:
- Doors will open approximately 60 minutes prior to show time - this is to allow enough time for the metal detector screening and bag inspection.
- There is no dress code, however, keep in mind that the theatre is kept cool year-round
- Free Wifi is available at the network -Kit_Kat_Club_Free_WiFi-
- Drinks and snacks may be purchased at any of the three bars, or through the Club’s delivery service, which is available at every seat.
- The coat check is located in the Vault Bar. The charge is $3 per item.
Prohibited Items:
- No weapons of any kind, including firearms, knives, tasers, mace, and pepper spray, are allowed.
- No personal alarms, glass bottles/containers, lighters, bikes, e-bikes, e-scooters, illegal substances, or alcohol.
Accessibility:
- Assistive Devices: The theatre offers audio induction neck loops and infrared headsets. Visit the headset booth in the Main Lobby next to the bar.
- Access Info: Wheelchair Accessible seating, Aisle Transfer seating, Companion seating, and Vision/Hearing Accessible seating are available.
- There is a Stair Lift that provides direct access from the front of the theatre to the Orchestra level. See a member of staff for more information.
- All the stairs in the theatre have handrails.
