Al Hirschfeld Theatre

Midtown

302 West 45th Street, New York, 10036, US

Why You’ll Love It

The Al Hirschfeld Theatre was designed by architect G. Albert Lansburgh and built by vaudeville promoter Martin Beck, whom the theatre was originally named after. Lansburgh incorporated Byzantine, Moorish, and Islamic elements into much of his work, including this theater’s exterior classical details. The ornate interior is adorned with stained glass doors, mosaics, and murals, all from its original creation in 1924. Notable productions include The Crucible, Bye Bye Birdie, Into the Woods, Annie, The Sound of Music, Kiss Me, Kate, The Wedding Singer, Kinky Boots, and currently, Moulin Rouge!
