You can always bring food to the Hollywood Bowl. My favorite spot nearby is <a href="https://www.theoaksgourmet.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">The Oaks Gourmet Market</a> where you can order a picnic basket packed to perfection. Order a day in advance to avoid the crowded food lines and eat better food during your show! You can also bring your own wine and beer to LA Phil-presented events, which you can check on their website for which those are.

Parking can be a nightmare if you do not arrive early, so I would recommend leaving well before the event starts and consider taking an Uber, which drops you off right in front of the entrance. Also, while not a great view, the nosebleed seats can be pretty cheap and make for a great picnic-style night out with friends under the open air.

They are famous for the spicy Rigatoni, Veal Parmesan, and Lobster Fra Diavolo. Trust me, I know you’ll want to, but don’t fill up on the bread basket! Make dinner reservations in advance; this is one of the most difficult reservations to get hands down.

The wine selection is excellent, but I would recommend ordering wines by the glass so you can have them paired with each of your courses. Always order the oysters, they have a house-made mignonette that really brings out the brininess. I also love the charred octopus and you should never leave Carbone without having their spicy rigatoni. This place is perfect for date night or a special occasion.

It's probably one of the best restaurants in the city! Great service and the tableside presentation is so classic. Order the Caesar salad that's prepared in front of you or the spicy rigatoni.

There's a short time when you hike through sand, so empty your boots before getting back in the car! Atlatl Rock features a block of red sandstone inscribed with primitive petroglyphs. It's adjacent to the parking lot and up a 50 ft staircase. No hiking required! My favorite is the easy-moderate White Domes Canyon trail that goes through sherbet-colored sandstone that can be strenuous. Two more easy trails are the Beehives and The Cabins. Wildlife to watch for: Bighorn Sheep, Coyotes, Tortoises, Antelope, Lizards, Snakes, Birds, and Roadrunners.
