Why You’ll Love It

Malibu Creek State Park, is an outdoorsman sanctuary just 25 miles from downtown Los Angeles where you can hike, fish, bird watch, rock climb, and camp amid the Santa Monica Mountains. The surrounding landscape is ultra surreal with wild rock formations, volcanic gorges, and even historic sites like the Mott Adobe ruins, explaining why movies like "Planet of the Apes" and the TV show "M*A*S*H," were filmed here.

Most people go here for the rock pools - it is a beautiful gorge with waterfalls, huge boulders, and a reflecting pool that everyone goes to swim in. Parking is pretty plentiful but you have to pay at the ranger gate upon entering.
