Why You’ll Love It
Sonoratown's mission is all about paying homage to the past while offering up the most authentic, delicious Mexican food possible. Named after the community of Mexican immigrants who settled in the Chinatown area after the gold rush in 1850, Sonoratown's small but well-executed menu is based on the cooking styles of San Luis Rio Colorado, a part of Northern Mexico known for having some of the best carne asada that's cooked over a mesquite wood fire. Pair that kind of flavor with homemade flour tortillas, and you've got a Downtown LA restaurant that has brought crowds of people and plenty of restaurant publications like Eater and the LA Times to the small taco counter within the first three months.
