This Croatian/Italian restaurant has been featured on eight different “Best of” lists, including a Wine Spectator’s “Award of Excellence” for two years back-to-back. Think wood-fired octopus charred to perfection, Balkan-style sausages, sumptuous lamb with blitva and potatoes, succulent tomato, farro and asparagus salads. All expertly paired with a wonderful and sometimes obscure assortment of Adriatic wines. Do not sleep on this restaurant, it’s where Windy City locals bring their out-of-town friends to impress them!

Winning Top Chef can be a gift or a curse. In this case, not only is this restaurant consistently busy, it's also consistently good. Chef Joe Flamm has somehow managed to create a Croatian-Italian (you read that correctly) menu of instant hits, that range from unique takes on traditional pasta to perfectly cooked octopus.
