Maxwell's Trading is one of the most unique eateries in Chicago, with a dedication to sustainability so deep that they even have a vegetable garden and bee hive on the roof as a part of the Roof Crop organization. The main dining space is airy and bright with white painted brick, light wood accents, and a minimalist aesthetic. It's the perfect setting for enjoying their menu of delicious dishes that are casual in style but not in flavor. A few of their notable standout items include the griddle bread with a Japanese eggplant dip, the Clay Pot Rice, and the decadent Forbidden Rice Pudding with mango. Now to get to the trading part of Maxwell's Trading with their Third Season space on the first floor that features a rotating selection of vendors and a permanent spot to feature the Paper or Plastic vintage records shop which curated the restaurant's playlist. Maxwell's Trading is the perfect combination of food, music, and social awareness, making it one of the best community spaces in the city.
