Why You’ll Love It
This cozy and seasonally snow-capped tavern operated as a miner’s cottage in 1883 and was built on land purchased for the exorbitant amount of $300. Today, it remains one of the oldest historic structures in the entire city, recognized for its indistinguishable Carpenter Gothic style.
The steep, pitched roofs, intricately cut trim, and clean white paint with deep forest green accents help the cottage pop amongst the surrounding brick-laid buildings. Inside, you can delight in one of their popular crispy chicken sandwiches and sip carefully crafted cocktails while getting toasty by a fireplace that has served generations.

Due to the intimate size of their dining room, White House Tavern does not accept reservations. If all their tables are occupied, they will add you to the waitlist... However, their bar seating is always available, so be sure to check there if you're feeling extra peckish.
